v
Inspiration of
Scripture
We believe the Scripture of the Old
and New Testaments are verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the
original writings, and consequently, are the supreme and final
authority.
Jeremiah 36:2; 2Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter
1:20-21
v
Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally
existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19; John
10:30; 15:26; 1 Peter 1:2
v
Incarnation
We believe that Jesus Christ is the
eternally begotten Son of God, very God of very God, of the essence with
the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.
Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 3:16-17; Mark
14:61-62; Luke 1:26-38; John 10:30
v
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, one of
three persons of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin,
righteousness and judgment. He regenerates all believers, indwells and
annoints all who are saved, thereby sealing them unto the day of
redemption; baptizes at the moment of conversion into one body of
Christ, all who are saved; and empowers all believers for service.
Ezekiel 36:27; John 15:26; 16:7-8;
Acts 1:8; Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 12:13;Ephesians 4:30
v
Spiritual Gifts
We believe that divine, enabling gifts
for service are sovereignly bestowed by the Spirit upon all who are
saved.
Joel 2:28; Romans 12:6; 1 Corinthians
12:4-11
v
Man
We believe that man was created in the
image of God and that he sinned in Adam. Thereby, he incurred not only
physical death but spiritual death, which is separation from God.
Hence, all human beings are born with a sinful nature that not only
possesses no spark of divine life, but is unchangeably bad apart from
divine grace.
Genesis 1:26; 2:16-17; 3:1-24; Romans
3:23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:8-9
v
Atonement
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ
died for our sins according to the scriptures as man’s representative
and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are
justified and forgiven on the basis of His shed blood.
Leviticus 17:11; Isaiah 53:4-8; John
3:16; Romans 3:25; Hebrews 2:17; 9:22; 1 John 2:2; 4:10
v
Resurrection,
Ascension, Exaltation
We believe in the resurrection of the
crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into Heaven and His present
life there as high priest and advocate for all believers.
Psalm 16:10; Matthew 28:1-11; Luke
24:1-12; 24:51; Hebrews 5:5-6; 1 John 2:1
v
Eschatology
We believe in the bodily personal
return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Psalm 13:96; Matthew 16:27; 25:32;
Luke 21:27; Acts 1:11; Hebrews 9:28
v
Future State
We believe in the bodily resurrection
of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious punishment of the
lost in hell, and the everlasting blessedness of the saved in Heaven.
Psalm 71:20; John 6:40; Acts 24:15; 2
Corinthians 4:14; 1 Thessalonians 4:16
v
Devil
We believe in the existence of Satan
and other fallen angels who are now working in the world attempting to
thwart the purposes of God. Satan and his fallen angels were judged at
the cross and at the end of the ages, will be cast into the lake of fire
for eternity.
Zechariah 3:1 Matthew 25:41; John
8:44; Ephesians 6:11-12; Hebrews 2:14; Revelation 12:7-9
v
Church
We believe that all who are born again
are members of the Church, which is the body and bride of Christ.
Isaiah 62:5; John 3:29; Romans 12:4-5;
Revelation 21:2
v
Ordinances
We believe that the ordinances of the
Church, given by our Lord, are water baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
